Favorite Fabrics for Window treatments

I am definitely a big believer that no room is complete without window treatments. I really don't like fussy, swags and jabots but instead I always opt for tailored, timeless and classic panels. The great thing is that panels are one of the most inexpensive ways to dress a window. Ideally, I like stationary panels that will keep your view open. But what about privacy? Well that's why it is important to layer your window treatments.

The first layer can be blinds, shutters, natural woven wood shades, fabric roman shades, designer roller shades, honeycomb or silhouettes (and the list goes on and on). The purpose of the fist layer is to provide privacy. They are usually mounted inside the window casings and have to be functional where they open and close with ease. Motorization has become a popular way to open and close window treatments, especially on really high windows.

Then there is the second layer - window panels. of course these can be made into functional panels as well, where they can be pulled to cover the windows. But I don't recommend making them functional unless that is needed to completely block light. Non-functional or stationary panels can be just as dramatic and beautiful.

This opens up a range of options like fabric type, pleat option, lined or unlined, interlined, finished length, rod or grommets.

Of course the overall style of the room and function are to be considered when making these choices. faux silks, cottons, linen blends and even linens are some of the inexpensive but good value fabrics that you can choose to dress up your windows.

Now for a limited time, we are running a promotion for a pair of lined, pinched pleat panels up to 108" for just $299. Available in any of the fabrics listed below.

It's a great time to get the window treatments you've always dreamed of.

Avoid "Flashing" Your Neighbors!

Are you guilty of this?

Not sure? Well if you don't have adequate window coverings, then you may be sharing more than just a fence with your neighbors.

No Naked Windows has a few inexpensive solutions to help you make peace (and eye contact) with the Jones'

Privacy Blinds - Available in faux wood or real wood, blinds are a great way to maintain privacy especially for budget conscious homeowners, and those seeking a quick turnaround. We offer Hunter Douglas products and Pinnacle Privacy Blinds

Shutters - Also available in faux wood and real wood options, shutters are preferred by those customers who need a simple solution in classic colors. Shutters provide the ultimate in value, performance and aesthetics. Norman Shutters, Design Shutters and Hunter Douglas are a few of the companies that we work with who offer quality products at great prices

Natural Woven Shades - For those seeking a natural look. Woven shades add a warm, rich dimension to any room whether they are hanging flat in the fully lowered position, or raised, creating even overlapping folds. Woven shades are created from natural woods, reeds, bamboo and grasses and will age beautifully in your home over time. They can be lined with blackout lining for additional privacy
Hunter Douglas offers tons of options to suit any decor.

Drapery - My favorite window covering, because I just love working with fabrics! There are literally a million different options available. You may choose to just layer your windows with blinds or shutters for privacy and fixed panels as the second layer to add softness and color to a space. You may also want to create fully functional drapery panels that when closed, completely covers your windows for privacy. Here are just a few examples.

Well these are just a few examples of products that we offer to clothe your naked windows. Please keep in mind that whatever you choose as window coverings must look consistent on the front of your home. Mis-matched window coverings on the front of your home is worse than your neighbors seeing you in your birthday suit.

No Naked Windows will be launching our new website soon, where you will be able to order custom lined drapery panels starting at just $499 per pair! We will also feature 2" privacy faux wood blinds. If you are in the Houston area, we do offer a complimentary in-home consultation and measure.

Hope you have gathered some knowledge and helpful hints and tips from this post. No Naked Windows offers the best solutions to avoid flashing your neighbors!
